A Tribute to My Grandmother Wilna Lee Bounds

Today is my grandma's birthday.  If she were living here on earth, she would be 99 years old!  I originally posted this on my former blog.

 

My Grandma Wilna Pauline Lee Bounds went to Heaven on Wednesday night. She was 90 years old and had been married for 70 years.

I owe my love of books and learning to my mother, Sylvia Jean Bounds Gunn.  She always kept us in books and encouraged us to read and learn.  This post was originally published on my former blog, and I feel like it should be the first one I share here.  It is the speech I gave at her funeral in 2016.

After a long five-month battle with cancer and other health issues, my mom went Home to Heaven on March 31, 2016.  My daughter and I had the privilege of spending most of that time with her caring for her needs. Her funeral was on Friday, April 8th, and I spoke about her life.  Following is the speech that I gave.
